The BYU-I Geology Museum is curated by the department and houses small, but exceptional collections of minerals, rocks, and fossils. The crown-jewel of the museum is the Keith and Mauna Proctor Mineral Collection. This collection is extraordinary in its quality and beauty. It includes extensive specimens of many mineral varieties and forms, including a 30 cm (12 in) long, green tourmaline crystal.
