1611 – King James Bible
The family bible was often a place where genealogies were recorded. We can look at a page where that was done.
•Commissioned by King James in 1604 and it was completed in 1611.
•Forty-seven scholars “translated out of the original tongues, (Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic) and with the former translations diligently compared and revised”, the former English translations were the Tyndale Bible, the Coverdale Bible, Matthew’s Bible, the Great Bible, and the Geneva Bible.
•On loan to Special Collections from the Groberg family.
