2nd Century – Roman Funerary Stele
Much like our tombstones today, these funerary steles would have provided a memorial for the deceased. We can relate it to find a grave.
•A monument intended to memorialize a deceased young man, aged 17.
•Inscribed in Greek with Latin first name “Julianos, (son) of Eidaios, aged 17.”
•Found in Turkey a crossroad of Greek and Roman culture
•Acquired from Collector Antiques under the curation of Dr. Bron Lipkin in August of 2010
