Rexburg is one of the top five winning cities of the Wyland National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation. Madison Middle School's 4th grade class, taught by Sharee Burton, studying water conservative plants worked with the Rexburg Mayor, Jerry Merrill, to bring greater awareness to the need to be conservation minded in the type of plants used to help conserve water. As a winner of the challenge, the Wyland Foundation donated a new Toyota Highlander to the city for use as a DARE Police car.
